Rice Krispie Easter Eggs

Every Easter I make my husband an Easter basket. Usually I fill it with his favorite candies, but this year I thought it would be fun to add an extra surprise. Bunker, my husband, does not generally like desserts, but he loves rice krispie treats! His groom's cake at our wedding was actually the Dallas skyline constructed of rice krispie treats! So, I decided to make his favorite treat into something seasonally appropriate for his Easter basket. For more fun ideas with rice krispies, visit their website: http://www.ricekrispies.com/

Ingredients:
6 Cups of Rice Krispies
1 10 Ounce Package of Marshmallows
3 Tablespoons of Butter
1 Cup of Confectioners Sugar
2 Tablespoons of Milk
1 Tablespoon of Light Corn Syrup
1/2 Cup of Decorative Sugar
Food Coloring

Steps:
1. Measure out all of the ingredients for the Rice Krispies: 6 cups of cereal, one 10 ounce package of marshmallows, and 3 tablespoons of butter.

2. Melt the butter in a large sauce pan over medium-high heat.

3. Add the marshmallows to the butter and stir until they are completely melted.

4. Remove the sauce pan from the heat and stir in the cereal until each pieces is coated in the marshmallow and butter mixture. It will be sticky.

5. About half a cup at a time, mold the mixture in your hands into an oval, the shape of an egg.

6. Once you have molded all of the treats into eggs you should then make the icing.
7. For the icing, mix together 1 cup of confectioners sugar, 2 tablespoons of milk and 1 tablespoon of light corn syrup. It should be the consistency of Elmer's glue (I know...tasty).

8. Dip each treat into the icing so that it is fully covered. You can also add food coloring to make pink or yellow eggs!

9. Let each treat rest for a bit so that the excess icing drips off of the treats.
10. Roll each treat in the decorative sugar.
11. Enjoy your egg treats and have a happy Easter!
